Nonprofit Partner Resolution
November 2004

I. Executive Summary: Pursuant to S.B. 305 as enacted by the 77th Texas Legislature (codified at Texas Parks and Wildlife Code §11.202) staff will present for consideration to the commission, a resolution removing certain closely related nonprofit organizations (friends groups) from the list of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department nonprofit partners.

II. Discussion:As nonprofit partners are added or removed, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission will be requested to adopt a resolution and approve additions or deletions to the list.

III. Recommendation:The staff recommends the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission adopt the following motion:

"The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission adopts by resolution in Exhibit A, the removal of those closely related nonprofit organizations named in Exhibit B from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department nonprofit partner list."

Resolution

Whereas, the Department maintains beneficial relationships with numerous nonprofit partners as defined in Parks and Wildlife Code §11.201, including closely related nonprofit organizations as defined in 31 Texas Administrative Code, §51.161;

Whereas, the Department must maintain Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission approval of all nonprofit partners selected;

Whereas, it has become necessary to remove certain closely related nonprofit organizations from the list of nonprofit partners;

Now, therefore, be it resolved by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission that the closely related nonprofit organizations listed in Exhibit B are removed from the list of closely related nonprofit partners.

In official recognition hereof, we hereby affix our signatures this 3rd day of November 2004.
