Below are links to application forms for several types of frequently requested wildlife permits, brochures, and other online resources that answer some of our most frequently asked questions. If you would like to apply for one of these permits, download the appropriate document(s) in MS-Word or Acrobat PDF format and type or fill them in by hand. Only hard copy applications with original signatures will be accepted. Please submit your application to:

Bird Permits

If you plan to apply for a permit that includes the authority to handle migratory birds (i.e. falconry, songbird/raptor rehabilitation, educational display of birds, or scientific collecting of migratory bird species), you will also be required to apply for a federal permit. Applications and further information can be found at http://permits.fws.gov/

Educational Display Permits

Fee exemption forms associated with these permits apply only to individuals affiliated with grade schools (K-12), not colleges or universities.

Falconry Permits

You must be at least 14 years of age to apply for an apprentice falconry permit. There are fees associated with each of the permits listed in this section. Please call 512-389-4481 for a fee schedule. All Non-Resident Raptor Trapper applications must be notarized and sent in by mail.

Fur-Bearing Propagation Permits

A permit is required for an individual to propagate fur-bearing animals for commercial purposes. Species subject to fur-bearing animal regulations include: badger, beaver, all fox, mink, muskrat, nutria, opossum, otter, raccoon, ring-tailed cat, all skunks. Fur-bearing animals may not be possessed as pets.
