This month's first Saturday tour will cover the topic of Geocaching. This worldwide game of hide-and-seek involves using a GPS unit or your smart phone to find caches hidden by others on the park and all over the world! To date over 2 million caches have been hidden around the world. Come and learn how to become a part of the Geocaching community. Rangers will provide information on geocaching basics, how to aquire the free app for smart phones, and how to create a profile to keep track of your progress. Once you have the basics down you will not only be able to search for caches at San Angelo State Park, but anywhere you go! We will meet at the South Shore Gatehouse located at San Angelo State Park, 362 South FM 2288, San Angelo, Texas 76901 at 10AM. Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes for your safety since we will be walking off of the trails to find some of our caches. If bringing younger children please be advised that Geocaching involves walking long distances. Life's better outside!
