“Bark in the Park” – Dog-friendly Hike

Spend some quality time with your four-legged furry friends and take a leisurely stroll down one of our dog-friendly trails; also, learn a few tips on hiking safely with your pets in the desert and dog-specific leave no trace principles!

($8.00 – this is the entrance fee + activity fee) 

Start: 7:00 a.m.

Length:  1 hour / 1 mile

Trail Difficulty:   Easy.  The section of the Lower Sunset that’ll we’ll be hiking is a smooth, well maintained flat trail ideal for new hikers and for dogs.  Whether you’re looking to introduce your 4-legged friend to the joys of hiking or just want to socialize your pet, you can meet other dog lovers and learn how to hike safely in the desert with your pets at this event.  We will also have water stations for the dogs and a kiddie pool for the pooches to cool the pads of their feet.

BRING:

Dogs, leashes, water and snacks for yourself and your pooch.

Directions: 

From Westside on I-10, take exit 6 & travel east towards Mountains for 3.8 miles, Park entrance will be on the left, but you’ll actually pass it, make a u-turn then enter on the right.  From Eastside on Hwy 54, exit Transmountain Rd, travel west 7 miles over/thru the mountains, Park entrance will be on the right.
