Come and be inspired by nature! This day of writing activities will encourage kids to examine the natural world from a new perspective. From 10-2, children and adults will be able to create, examine and be inspired. Some supplies will be supplied, but feel free to bring your own. This event will take place at the park pavilion. There will be 3 different activities, with a one hour break for lunch.
Schedule of Activities:
Participants will work together to create a poem inspired by nature, built one word at a time, painted on rocks, and left assembled for future visitors to see.
11:00am-12:00pm: Nature Journaling
The group will be left to explore the area, observing everything around them. Assuming the role of "nature detective," the participants will try to observe and write down everything they can discover about what they see, hear or touch.
Lunch is NOT PROVIDED.
1:00pm-2:00pm: Nature News
What's happening in the forest today? Participants will play the role of journalists and reporters, finding the top stories in the forest. Once that's done, we'll work together to create our own edition of the Nature News!
