Meet a Park Ranger at Stinky Beach!
If you want to volunteer to help drag the seine net be sure to wear sturdy close toed shoes. We will walk the net through the water to see what creatures we can find. The catch is never the same; we may catch juvenile fish, shrimp, or even baby squid in the net.
This event will meet at Stinky Beach on the island at 2:30 p.m.
Helpful things to bring: A camera, water, closed toed shoes, sunscreen, and curiosity!
Accessibility: Individuals will have to walk a short distance to Stinky Beach. Parking is available across from the bridge to the island, and at the restrooms for the camping area on the east end of Goose Island.
There is no fee for attending fishing with a ranger, but a valid enterance permit is required. Entry fees are $5 per person over the age of 13, children 12 and under are free, a current Texas State Park Pass will waive entry.
