You see them flying all around…You hear them chirping and singing…Have you ever wondered what kind of bird is it that you are actually seeing and hearing?

Whether you’re just starting out or simply need a little coaching, if you’ve ever wanted to know more about birds and the fun of bird watching, why not check out our “Birding for Beginners” series of guided hikes? These programs, offered from September through May and led by San Antonio Audubon member James Sheppard, will answer all your questions about the fun and excitement of bird watching; including basics on the use of Binoculars and Bird Field Guides. BYO binoculars and Field Guides if you have them, or let us know if you’ll need one. Wear sturdy shoes, hat, sunscreen, and bring at least one liter of water per person; 8:30 AM - 11:30 AM. Group size limited; participants under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian; no pets please. Meet at the rainwater collection towers. Registration required and will be accepted from noon April 30, 2013 until noon March 29, 2013. For reservations/more information, e-mail fogcsna@gmail.com.
