Park guides may choose to walk through the butterfly gardens or take an electric tram ride to see the colorful and unusual butterflies and dragonflies, some of which are seen nowhere else in the United States except South Texas!
When: Every Friday at 1:30 p.m.
Where to meet: The Deck overlooking Ibis Pond near the Park Store
What are we doing: Watching for butterflies and dragonflies, and walking.
Things to bring: Binoculars, water, sunscreen, bug spray, shoes suitable for walking, a camera, and dress in weather appropriate clothing.
Walks may be canceled or postponed in event of rain or cold.
There is no fee for attending this program although park entrance is required. Entrance fees are $5 per person over the age of 13, children 12 and under are free, or free with a current Texas State Park Pass. Appropriate for all ages and all skills of butterfliers and dragonfliers. We do have a few pairs of binoculars available for use during the program.
