Join us for a unique Texas birthday celebration! Washington on the Brazos is known as the Birthplace of Texas because it is here in 1836 that the Texas Independence Convention gathered to declare for independence. You don’t want to miss this opportunity to mingle with reenactors portraying  soldiers in the Texas Army, listen to the many talented Texas musicians playing throughout the park, or enjoy the craftsmanship of skilled Texas artisans! Along with all of the other great things to do and see at the park, there will be a variety of food vendors onsite sure to satisfy your tastes. Don’t forget to join us Sunday for the formal ceremony recognizing Texas Independence Day and the cutting of a Texas-sized birthday cake! This program is open to all ages but children must be accompanied by an adult. Dress appropriately for the season as the presentation takes place outside! Held at Washington on the Brazos SHS 12300 Park Rd. 12, Washington, TX 77880. Accessible for the mobility impaired. Program subject to cancellation.
