Edible Plants Walking Trail
Join a park ranger for an easy one mile hike down Turk's Cap Trail. Learn about what plants are edible, how to prepare them, and how to recognize them.

The trail is wide and fairly even. Wheelchair accessible.
Park at the north trail head for this walk, then head over the restrooms on Warbler Way. This easy one mile hike will meet at Goose Island State Park's Bird Sanctuary and then head out to Turk's Cap Trail. Learn to identify some of our native plants and find out which parts are edible. There will be no harvesting or tasting of wild edibles.
When: Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
Where to park: The north trail head for Turk's Cap Trail.
Where to meet: The Bird Sanctuary, next to the restrooms on Warbler Way. Warbler Way is located in the wooded camping area.
What are we doing: Learn to identify native plant, we can also watch for wildlife.
Things to bring: Water, bug spray, sun screen, shoes suitable for hiking, a camera, or binoculars.
Walks may be canceled in event of rain.
