From butterflies, to prickly pear, to javelinas; Lake Casa Blanca has lots of nature to explore. Bring the family and join us on this unique three-part series. In each Saturday program, we'll have a "target list" of animals or plants to find, and we will either sketch or describe the items we find. If you can't make all three of the programs, please feel free to join us for whatever you can. However, visitors who participate in all three programs will take home a certificate and a small prize.
This week we will be exploring the Spillway/White-tail Loop. The plantlife in the Spillway, a flat, grassy field, is very different from that of anywhere else in the Park. Our multi-use hiking/biking trail, White-tail Loop, runs through the Spillway. We'll be walking on this dirt trail, and through the "Monte". Round trip will be about 1.5 miles. At the end of the Program, we will award a certificate and a small prize to those who have participated in all three of the "Exploring Lake Casa Blanca" programs.
All ages welcome. Meet in front of the Boat Ramp Restrooms. Please bring drinking water, sun protection, bug spray, and good walking shoes. Binoculars will be provided, or bring your own. Don't forget your camera!
