Falls Fest 2012

Grab the kids and text your friends: Falls Fest 2012 is Oct. 13 from 10-4 at McKinney Falls State Park. Located in Austin’s backyard, McKinney Falls will host a variety of events for all ages. This year's archeology theme will feature flint knapping, archery, rock climbing, atlatl throwing, fishing, leather-working crafts, musket ball and shot making demonstrations, the Buffalo Soldiers, Dutch oven cooking, wilderness survival hikes, birding walks, a star gazing party, raffle, contest prizes and more. The event is free after park admission and open to the public. Children under the age of 13 are admitted without charge. Birding walks start at 7 a.m. and the star party starts after dusk.
