Come out and join us in celebrating the New Year with a hike on Coyote Run Trail. This 4.6 mile hike will take you through the hills and bottom lands surrounding Cooper Lake. There will be a guided hike beginning at 9:30 that will take about 2 hrs. to complete or you can come out anytime during the day at your own leisure. Please let the people at the Headquarters know that you came for the First Day Hike. Be sure to bring your walking stick and water or snack foods to take with you. A camera and binoculars may come in handy as well.
First Day Hike is a national initiative to get people outdoors and active on the first day of the year. We will be joined by thousands of people from around the United States participating in this event. Make this a tradition for your family and “come hike with us”.
This event may be cancelled because of severe weather. Contact the park office for updated information (903) 945-5256. See you on the trail!
