First Day Hike Rock On

Rock on with us for a First Day Hike at Inks Lake State Park on Tuesday January 1^st from 1:00- 3:00 PM. Join us for a guided adventure hike led by the park ranger and master naturalists. You will see gorgeous Hill Country vistas atop beautiful outcroppings that surround the lake. Be challenged to check off the items listed on the scavenger hunt as we weave through oak forests, climb on rocks and leap over creek beds. Let the naturalist treat you to some of the highlights of the parks special features, flora and fauna. Bring the kids, the family and friends. Start a great tradition and get outdoors on the first day of the year, as "Life is better outside". Pay the entrance fee and then meet the naturalists at the Pecan Flats Trailhead. No cost for program fee. It’s a hiking odyssey for people of all ages.  Prizes awarded for those that complete the two hour hike. Then meet us behind the park store. Check out the cool trail-related souvenirs from the park store and enjoy some hot chocolate provided by the Friends Group. Park entrance fees apply.
