First Day Hikes

Park Trail & Resource Manager Mark Hassell will lead folks on a short and easy,  ½-mile hike down the Paseo del Rio Trail and return.  This family-friendly hike will introduce hikers to the geology, flora and fauna, and history of legendary Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Hikers may want to bring sturdy shoes, drinking water and a hiking stick. Special notes:  Weather permitting; no pets, please.  Meet at the south end of the park’s Chinaberry Day-Use Area.
