First Day Hikes

Start the year off right with a healthy and informative walk along the shoreline around the primitive camping island. Low lake levels provide a unique opportunity to observe unique lakebed features including animal tracks, brim beds, mussel shoals and a special look at the impact of wake-creating recreational watercraft along the island’s shoreline. Cost for adults is $2 per person. Kids hike free. Bring bottled water and comfortable walking shoes. Hiking sticks are optional but are available for purchase at the park office.  : Hikers will meet at Group Pavilion.
