First Day Hikes

Abilene State Park will host a guided nature hike on the Elm Creek Nature Trail. Distance is about 1 mile, very easy hike, suitable for almost anyone. A ranger and some volunteers will point out interesting features, talk about the plants and animals, and answer questions along the way. Participants will want to bring sturdy shoes, drinking water and a hiking stick.  Participants should meet at the park’s CCC refectory bldg.
