Fish with a Ranger
Join a Park Ranger and fish off of the fishing pier. Learn a few fishing basics, or just enjoy the morning.

Learn a few fishing basics while spending the morning on the pier. Bring your own fishing pole or use one of ours. The park will provide 10 fishing poles (one fishing pole per person) and bait. This program will run until 10:00 a.m. or until we run out of bait, whichever happens first.
If you would like to continue fishing on your own afterwards, visit Park Headquarters to enquire about the Loaner Tackle Program. Bait can be bought at Goose Island Bait & Tackle, next to the boat ramp.
When: Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
Where: Goose Island State Park Fishing Pier. Meet at the enterance to the fishing pier.
Helpful things to bring include: Sun screen, water, gloves if you have them, and a fishing pole.
Fishing Pier: Is located on the east end of Goose Island State Park. The pier is wheelchair accesible. Parking and restrooms are located adjacent to the pier.
Goose Island State Park has a day use fee of $5 per person 13years of age and older, children 12 and under are free.
