Geocaching 101 - (Beaumont Area)
Visit Village Creek State Park in Lumberton, TX and discover a new sport called Geocaching. You will use a provided GPS unit to find hidden treasure and learn how to play a game that can be played almost anywhere. It's great for kids and adults, no experience or equipment necessary!

Have you ever heard about Geocaching and wondered what all the excitement was about? If so, come join us and learn about this outdoor adventure game
This “Geocaching 101” workshop will be held at the Nature Center of Village Creek State Park. The event will start at 10:00am on Saturday, September 1, 2012 and last approximately one hour and all necessary equipment will be provided. Afterwards, we can search for geocaches in the park. So whether you’re new to geocaching or a long-time cacher, come join the fun!
Being a state park, there is a $3 per day entrance fee for persons 13 and older. Admission for children 12 and under is free. Please stop by the headquarters to pay your fee. While you are there, get a free "trail" map. It will be handy for finding these caches.
Bring water, bug repellent, and closes toes shoes to stay comfortable on the trails.
