Before the telegraph had woven its way throughout this land and even before the railroad had puffed its way through the wilderness of Texas, communication was provided by the ad-interim government of the soon-to-be Republic of Texas. Come and learn how government provided communication and the entrepreneurial spirit combined it with wheels to provide transportation in early Texas. Join us at 11, 1 and 3p.m. as we present Going Postal in 1800s Texas.
Presentation will be ongoing throughout the day and will last approximately thirty-five to forty minutes. This program is open to all ages but children must be accompanied by an adult. Dress appropriately for the season as the presentation takes place in a period setting. Held at Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site, 579 Main Street, Anderson, TX 77830. Program subject to cancellation.
