Before the telegraph had woven its way throughout this land and even before the railroad had puffed its way through the wilderness of Texas, communication was provided by the ad-interim government of the soon-to-be Republic of Texas. Come and learn how government provided communication and the entrepreneurial spirit combined it with wheels to offer transportation in early Texas. Join us at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. as we present Going Postal in 1800s Texas.

Presentation will be ongoing throughout the day and will last approximately 35 to 40 minutes.

This program is open to all ages but children must be accompanied by an adult. Dress appropriately for the season as the presentation takes place in a period setting. Held at Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site, 579 Main Street, Anderson, TX 77830. Program subject to cancellation.
