Start your weekend right & join a Ranger on our Saturday morning hikes! The hike will be on either the Old CCC Trail (3.4 miles round trip) or the Skyline Drive Trail (4.5 miles round trip) and will take you up to a beautiful overlook point. Learn about wildlife, history, geology, and conservation! The hikes will be between 2.5 and 3.5 hours in length. We recommend you wear sturdy shoes and encourage you to bring enough water (16 oz. per hour of hiking). Bring hiking sticks, as well - both of these trails have some loose rock and a few steep areas.
Meet at the Interpretive Center by 9:30AM. Well behaved, leashed pets are welcome! The local humane society will have dogs available for the hike for any interested visitors, as well.
For information on a specific day's hike, contact Nina Cardenas at (432) 426-3337 ext.224.
All offered programs are free of charge; regular entrance fees apply.
Note: The last Saturday of every month may or may not have this hike, dependent upon reservations for the monthly Limpia Canyon Primitive Area Guided Hike. Contact Nina Cardenas for inquiries.
