Join Dinosaur Valley State Park rangers on June 2nd to celebrate National Trails Day! We’ve got three very different hikes planned throughout the day for you to enjoy. Join us at 8am for the Bird Watching Hike where we will explore Golden-Cheeked Warbler and Black-Capped Vireo habitat and learn about the variety of birds that inhabit the park. Come walk with us at 10am on the Nature Hike to learn about the Paluxy River Valley and how to measure the height of a tree. If you’re really wanting to get out and explore the park, join us at 1pm for the Park Highlights Hike that will lead to Cretaceous-aged coral reef formations, beautiful overlooks with breathtaking views, into Black-Capped Vireo and Golden-Cheeked Warbler habitats, and much, much more! Open to anyone interested in exploring Dinosaur Valley State Park’s trails and learning more about the unique features of the park. Please wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes to hike in. The trails can be rugged and steep so no flip-flops please. Bring plenty of water, sunscreen and a hat. It will be hot! Meet at the trailhead parking lot for the Bird Watching Hike and in the parking lot at Track Site #2 for the other hikes. Held at Dinosaur Valley State Park, 1629 Park Road 59, Glen Rose, TX, 76043
