Join a park ranger for a Junior Ranger Explorer Hike. Topics will vary. We may be nature sleuths and search for natural items on the trail, we may identify plants and animals, or be nature artists! Come on out with an explorer hike, and if you want a specific activity let us know!

Kids 12 and under play for free in Texas State Parks. This event takes place in a field in our day use area. Wear closed toed shoes and dress for the weather.
Join in on a Junior Ranger Explorer Activity at Goose Island State Park! Junior Ranger Explorer Activities focus on discovering the outdoors and nature. Prior to the hike we will go over the contents of a Junior Ranger Explorer Pack and how they can be used on our 50 species Hike! This activity is for individuals of all ages.
Activities include: Being a Nature Sleuth! Search for nature items on the trail likes chewed leaves, animal tracks to name a few.
Or go on a species hike! Species Hikes are part of an Audubon Neighborhood Challenge to find 50 species in your back yard. We may not get a total of 50 species on the Hike, but this activity is designed to open up our eyes to the world around us!
When: Most Fridays at 2:30 p.m. & Saturdays at 8:30 a.m.
Where: We will meet at the Bird Sanctuary on Warbler Way at 2:30 p.m. The Bird Sanctuary is in the woods camping area of the park, and is next to the restrooms on Warbler Way.
Helpful things to bring: A journal to record things, a camera if you want pictures, water, bug spray, and sturdy shoes; a Junior Ranger Explorer Pack is optional.
Park Location: So where is Goose Island State Park? We are located north of Rockport Fulton across the Copano Causeway on 202 S. Palmetto, Rockport, Tx.
Goose Island State Park has a day use fee of $5 per person 13 years of age and older, children 12 and under are free.
