Ever wondered how people found their way in the outdoors before GPS? Learn the basics of using a map and compass to find your way at Government Canyon SNA and at other Natural Areas and Parks. Members of the Friends of Government Canyon Activities Committee will conduct a workshop and field exercise from 1:30 to 4:30 PM on Sunday, November 18. Participants are encouraged to bring an orienteering-type compass, though some will be available for use. This program is open to all ages, but children must be accompanied by a parent; no pets please; space is limited to 20 participants. Reservations required and will be accepted from noon October 16 until noon November 16, 2012. For reservations or more information, email fogcsna@gmail.com.
