Join us for Mother’s Day Hikes from 9 a.m. to noon on Sunday, May 13, 2013 Hueco Tanks State Park & Historic Site, 6900 Hueco Tanks Rd. #1, El Paso, Texas 79938. There will be three hikes. Each hike will accommodate 10 participants and will be led by a ranger or trained volunteer. Hikers will see Native American pictographs, plants in bloom, unique landscapes, and possibly wildlife. Participants should bring water, a camera, and a backpack for their items while scrambling up or down rocks. Dress for the desert environment: sunblock, a hat, long sleeves, and hiking boots are recommended.
Reservations are required, and will be taken until the tour is full. Call (915) 849-6684 for reservations and information. There is a $2 activity fee for ages 5 and above in addition to the $7 entrance fee for ages 13 and above. Due to the sensitive nature of the site, pets are not allowed on tours; for their safety pets may not be left in vehicles unattended.
