Saturday, August 10 – ($5.00 entrance fee )
(Bikes available to borrow – 1st come 1st serve basis, request when making reservation)
•Meet at Chuck Heinrich Park
•Start: 8:00 a.m.
•Length: 2 hours/ 6 to 7 miles
•*Difficulty level: Beginner – Moderate. Join us for a fun morning designed to introduce a novice rider to the world of mountain bike riding in our beautiful Chihuahuan Desert and Franklin Mountains State Park where there are over 125 miles of trails! We’ll have bikes available to borrow, how-to’s on basic bike maintenance, bike riding etiquette and tips on safe riding. Ky Harkey will be one of our special guest guides and presenters visiting from Austin, TX. Must have reservation to participate.
Bring: Cycling helmet, drinking water and eye protection (sunglasses). We highly recommend that each participant also bring snacks, cycling gloves, cycling shorts, sunscreen, and a backpack or hydration pack (i.e. Camelbak).
Driving Directions to Chuck Heinrich Park:
Hwy 54 - take exit 31 toward Martin Luther King Jr Blvd/Kenworthy St. Turn north onto Martin Luther King Jr Blvd travel 0.6 mi. Left onto Jon Cunningham Blvd, drive to end parking lot.
