Celebrate the end of the school year and the beginning of summer by joining us for the American Hiking Society’s National Trails Day hike on Saturday, June 7th. This year’s theme is Explore Birding! Learn about a special bird, the Golden-cheeked Warbler and what the park is doing to help it survive. Several hands-on activities, tips for beginning birders, and making a simple bird feeder will occur along the trail. The self-guided hike begins at 9:00 am and ends at 4:00 pm. Sponsored by the Mother Neff State Park Association; Dr. Pepper Bottling Company of Texas; Mars Chocolate North America; and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. Thanks to our sponsors the first 75 participants will receive a special birding package. Door prizes of bird books, feeders, and a pair of binoculars will be drawn at the end of the day!
