Compasses have been around for centuries. In todays world we have map quest, map apps, and GPSs of all types. What would you do if the power went out and you had to navigate the old way, by compass. Learn about the compass and how to use a compass. After the talk you will go out on a little course and try your skills out-orienteering. Compasses will be provided for your use during the program. Ages 6 and up are appropriate for this program. Children under 13 must have an adult present. Excellent for Boy Scouts and Girl Scout merit badges. Accessible for the visually and hearing impaired. Meet at Heron Harbor parking lot near the Coyote Run trailhead. Long pants are strongly recommended. Bring water and sun screen. Cooper Lake State Park/South Sulphur Unit, 1690 FM 3505, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482. (903) 945-5256 Entry or Camping fees apply. Subject to cancellation.
