Peak Fitness – Ron Coleman (Meet on Transmountain Rd. side, then carpool to McKelligon Canyon) – $5.00 per person (Free w/Parks Pass)

Start: 7:00 a.m.
Length: 4 miles / 4 - 5 hours
*Difficulty Level: Strenuous. From the trailhead we will venture into the canyon on a well maintained section of trail; once we reach the incline, the trail becomes increasingly steep, with trail becoming more rugged in sections. Your hard work pays off with spectacular views, “fun” challenges such as climbing 4 sections of chains to get to “the window” and over steep 10-15 ft. rock walls, and of course the right to say you conquered the Ron Coleman Trail!
Bring: Water, snacks, sturdy hiking shoes/boots; optional: hiking stick, camera, binoculars, a map.
Directions to meeting spot:
From West Side: Exit #6 from I-10, travel east about 6.75 miles to destination at large gravel lot on right side (past 1st picnic sites). From East side: Exit #29 (transmountain rd) from Hwy 54, travel west about 4 miles; large gravel lot on left. Plan to carpool over to McKelligon Canyon to begin hike (about a 30 minute drive from initial meeting place).
