Perseids Meteor Shower Party
Meet at Tom Mays Unit @ Franklin Mountains State Park
Start: 8:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Description: Rangers from Franklin Mountains State Park and Hueco Tanks State Park & Historic Site will lead presentations and activities about the Perseid meteor shower, constellation folklore, and our vanishing dark skies. Then, view the cosmos through two provided telescopes or sit back and enjoy the meteor shower!
Bring: Participants should bring a flashlight, folding chair or blanket, and water.
Directions to Tom Mays Unit:
From Westside on I-10, take exit 6 & travel east towards Mountains for 3.8 miles, Park entrance will be on the left, but you’ll actually pass it, make a u-turn then enter on the right. From Eastside on Hwy 54, exit Transmountain Rd, travel west 7 miles over/thru the mountains, Park entrance will be on the right.
