Learn how to teach young people about terrestrial and aquatic wildlife and ecosystems using fun, hands-on educational activities. During the ten-hour training workshop participants will sample activities and receive both curriculum guides. Activities are adaptable for all grade levels, integrated with core subject curricula and aligned to the TEKS. Teachers receive SBEC and TEEAC continuing education credit. Informal educators, teachers, and youth group leaders may take the training. Held at the Edinburg World Birding Center, 714 Raul Longoria Rd., Aug 8 Thurs 8:30-3:00 and Aug 9 Friday 8:00-noon. Must attend both days to receive WILD materials. $50 Preregistration required. Fee includes lunch on Thursday and snacks on Friday. Space is limited; to register call 956-381-9922.
