A solar eclipse is a rare occurrence and you are invited to observe it with us at Cooper Lake State Park/South Sulphur Unit. Bring a box 3-5 ft. long and no less than 4 inch by 4 inch in height and width (can be larger – ie: 10x16) with you and learn how to build a viewing box to safely view the event. Other items necessary to complete the viewing box will be provided. We will only be able to observe 70% of the eclipse before the sun drops over the horizon. Join us at the Sunset Cove Fishing Pier for a front row seat. Because of the length of the eclipse we recommend bringing water, a snack, chair and a hat. Accessible for the mobility, visually, and hearing impaired. Regular park entry fees apply. For further information: Cooper Lake SP/South Sulphur Unit, 1690 FM 3505, Sulphur Springs, Tx. 75482 or call: (903) 945-5256.
