Join our April Bird Hosts Larry & Judy Geiger for a woodland bird walk. This walk is over fairly even terrain and we will look for some of our resident birds as well as the birds that migrate through Goose Island in the spring.

Appropriate for all ages and all skills of birders. We do have a few pairs of binoculars available for use during the program, although it is best to bring your own.
Our Park Hosts will watch for birds, help point out the birds location, the behavior, and calls. Join us for this easy bird walk, where we search for the birds that move through Goose Island in the spring. Expect to see birds and maybe even learn a few new things.
When: 8:00 a.m.
Parking: In the woods there is parking at both ends of Turk's Cap Trail. The south end of the trail is between Warbler Way & Bay Berry, the north end of the trail is next to campsite 157. Please do not park at the restrooms or in campsites.
Where to meet: Meet at the parking area next to Campsite 157 in the woods.
What are we doing: Bird watching and walking.
Things to bring: Binoculars, water, sun screen, bug spray, shoes suitable for walking, a camera, and dress in weather appropriate clothing.
Walks may be canceled or postponed in event of rain.
There is no fee for attending this program although park entrance is required. Entrance fees are $5 per person over the age of 13, children 12 and under are free, or free with a current Texas State Park Pass. Appropriate for all ages and all skills of birders.
