The Great Backyard Bird Count is conducted in areas around the United States in order to obtain a real-time snapshot of winter bird populations.  Over the course of four days, volunteers record the species found in a specific area and the number of individuals seen.

This annual event at Lake Livingston State Park is hosted by the Pineywoods Bird and Bloom Club and Pineywood-Lakes Texas Master Naturalists.  Their volunteers will be on hand at the Duck Pond Bird Blind between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. to help identify birds, answer questions, and will lead afternoon discovery walks.

Binoculars, Bird Guides and a spotting scope will be available.

All ages and experience levels welcome, boardwalk is wheelchair accessible.

Park Admission fees apply, no additional charge for event participation.
