Join Kyle Cunningham, one of the founders of the Government Canyon Coalition, and staff interpreter John Koepke as they present a fascinating program about the human history of San Antonio’s largest natural area. From Native Americans thru German ranch families, military surveyors, “gentlemen ranchers,” conservationists and even folks like you, all playing a part of this complex and diverse landscape. Find out about the Joe Johnston Route, the Zizelmann House, the mysterious Spanish Moss Grove and more! Learn about the conditions that led to the acquisition of the property and the people and organizations involved. Open to all ages; children must be accompanied by an adult; no pets please. Meet at the Exhibit Hall at the Visitors Center. Reservations recommended but not required.
