Wilderness Skills Course - Lost Maples
A three-day, two-night backpacking experience for women only.

Participants will learn how to backpack in this hands-on, immersion workshop (3 days, 2 nights). The weekend promises a trek of 10-11 miles of gorgeous scenery and eye opening vistas in the Texas Hill Country.
Topics and Skills include:
- Trip planning & preparation
- Site Selection & Setup
- Backcountry cooking & water purification
- Basic outdoor safety & backcountry emergency medicine.
- Leave No Trace; and land navigation (GPS, topo, compass, sun & stars)
Friday: Check-in and a briefing on how to fit and pack a backpack; followed by a short trek to the first night's campsite.
Saturday: We hit the trail for a hike through the picturesque Mystic Canyon which stretches through Can Creek and ends at camp #2.
Sunday: We hike the Sabinal River bed and Maple Trail under a canopy of spectacular fall foliage afforded us by Big Tooth Maple trees.
