Woodland Bird Walk
Join our February Bird Hosts Les and Jane for a woodland bird walk. This walk is over fairly even terrain and will look for some of our resident birds as well as the birds that migrate through Goose Island in the spring.

This is an easy walk over fairly level terrain. Participants are welcome to stay for all or only part of the walk. Length of bird walk may vary.
Join our February Bird Hosts for a woodland bird walk. This bird walk will meet at the restroom rooms on Warbler Way of Goose Island State Park, on most Thursdays. Please Park at the north end of Turk's Cap Trail (next to campsite 157, across the street from the restrooms).
Les and Jane are returning as our February Bird Hosts. They will listen and watch for birds and help point out the birds, their behavior, and calls. Join us for this easy bird walk, where you can see birds, and maybe even learn a few new things.
When: 8:30 a.m.
Parking: Park at Turk's Cap Trail Parking Lot, next to campsite 157.
Where to meet: The restrooms on Warbler Way.
What are we doing: Bird watching and walking.
Things to bring: Binoculars, water, sun screen, bug spray, shoes suitable for walking, a camera, and dress in weather appropriate clothing.
Walks may be canceled or postponed in event of rain.
There is no fee for attending this program although park entrance is required. Entrance fees are $5 per person over the age of 13, children 12 and under are free, or free with a current Texas State Park Pass. Appropriate for all ages and all skills of birders. We do have a few pairs of binoculars available for use during the program. If planning on borrowing a pair of binoculars please email to reserve a pair.
