Most of the small lakes are "Community Fishing Lakes" and have special harvest regulations for catfish. Please consult TPW Outdoor Annual for current fishing regulations. This is not a complete list of all lakes in the Austin Area.
Bank fishing is fair within the parks(Tejas Camp, and Jim Hogg, Russell and Cedar Breaks parks) operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. A hiking trail from Tejas Camp provides miles of bank fishing access to the south shore of the North Fork of the San Gabriel River above the reservoir.
From I-35 in Georgetown, go west on FM 2338 (Andice Blvd.) and turn left at the sign to the park of choice. Tejas Camp can be found by turning right onto CR 258 just north of the junction of highways 183 and 29, north of Leander.

Bank access is available at Festival Beach Park, Auditorium Shores and Red Bud Island. The Austin hike and bike trail circles almost the entire lower two thirds of the reservoir offering access to the bank.
Festival Beach (a) is located on the north side of the lake just east of I-35. Auditorium Shores (b) is on the south shore off Riverside Drive between South 1st and Lamar. Red Bud Island (c) can be reached by turning south onto Red Bud Trail off Lake Austin Boulevard.

Bank angling is available at the Loop 360 bridge crossing (a), Emma Long Park, Mary Quinlan Park and Fritz Hughes Park near Mansfield Dam.
Emma Long Park (b) can be located by turning south onto City Park Road off of Ranch Road 2222 just west of Loop 360. Mary Quinlan Park (c) can be located by turning south on Quinlan Park Road from Ranch Road 620. Fritz Hughes Park (d) can be reached by turning onto Low Water Crossing Road from 620, and turning south on Fritz Hughes Park Road.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers operates four parks on the shores of Granger Lake, including Friendship Park, Taylor Park, Willis Creek Park and Wilson H. Fox Park. These parks provide campgrounds, restrooms, picnic areas, boat ramps and opportunities for shoreline fishing. There is also bank access to the San Gabriel River above Granger Lake off County Road 347.
From I-35 in Round Rock, travel east on Highway 79 to Taylor, and take Highway 95 north toward Granger. For Taylor and Wilson H. Fox Parks, turn right off Highway 95 onto FM 1331 near Circleville and look for park signs on left. To fish the San Gabriel River above the lake, access the river on the southeast side of the Highway 95 bridge, or turn right onto County Road 347 and continue to the wildlife management area parking lot. For Willis Creek Park, turn right onto County Road 346 between the San Gabriel River and Granger. For Friendship Park, turn right on FM 971 in Granger, then right at the sign for the park.

From East Austin, go east from US 183 on FM 969, and turn left onto Blue Bluff Road. From Del Valle, go north off of HWY 71 East onto FM 973, and pass through the FM 969 intersection. Turn left onto Decker Lake Road, then right onto Blue Bluff Road.

Lake Travis has 14 LCRA parks and recreation areas on its shores. Travis County operates seven of the parks through an agreement with the LCRA. Each of these parks offers bank fishing access and a host of other amenities.

Boat and bank access can be found at North Shore and South Shore parks. They are operated by the LCRA. Additional amenities at both parks include picnic tables, playgrounds and sand volleyball courts. The North Shore has a fishing pier and the South Shore provides a swimming area.
From Austin, take HWY 71 east to Bastrop, take a left onto HWY 95. To South Shore: Take a right onto HWY 21 East. Go approximately 2 miles and turn left onto South Shore Road (also CR 352). Continue on South Shore Road, the entrance will be on your right. To North Shore: Turn right off HWY 95 onto FM 1441, drive 2.5 miles to the park entrance.

From I-35, take the HWY 79 exit, head east on HWY 79 and turn left onto Old Settlers Park about 3 miles from I-35.

From I-35, take the FM 3406 exit (just north of HWY 79 exit) and go east on 3406/Old Settlers Boulevard to Sunrise Street to a Stop sign. One block past Sunrise Street, turn left onto Settlement Drive, and lake is about ¼ mile on the right side of the road.

Four fishing ponds offer excellent bank access within this Travis County Park. Other amenities include hiking trails, a climbing wall and various sporting fields and courts.
Travel east on HWY 71 past Austin-Bergstrom International Airport. The park is on the north side of HWY 71.

Several parks offer boating and bank fishing access to the river. Little Webberville and Big Webberville parks have paved parking and boat ramps, and are maintained by Travis County. A fishing pier is located at Big Webberville Park. Fisherman's Park in Bastrop also has paved vehicle access and boat ramp, as well as picnic facilities, nature trail, playground and fishing pier.
Little Webberville (a) and Big Webberville (b) are located east of Austin on FM 969 near the community of Webberville. Fisherman's Park (c) is located near downtown Bastrop at the end of Farm Street.
