Fishing Regulations
Being located within a state park, this lake is regulated as a Community Fishing Lake. The daily bag limit for channel and blue catfish is 5 fish, with no minimum length limit; and the only legal fishing method is pole-and-line. Otherwise, statewide regulations apply.
Angling Opportunities
Fort Parker Lake is not known as a great fishing hole. Management and stocking efforts to improve the fishery have met with little success. Years of flooding from the muddy Navasota River have taken a toll on this otherwise scenic lake, which has become severely silted in since impoundment in 1935. Fishing for blue and channel catfish is the best option. Boaters should exercise caution: at low water levels, it's easy to run aground.

Fishing Cover/Structure
This lake has isolated brush piles, shallow aquatic vegetation, and some rocks, but little else.
Tips & Tactics
For channel and blue catfish, tightlining blood bait, shad, or cut bait can result in good catches.
