McClellan Reservoir is located in the McClellan Creek National Grassland, administered by the US Department of Agriculture. The recreation area has 60 campsites including full hook-ups and 25 picnic sites. Restroom and camping facilities are handicap accessible, but there are no handicap fishing piers on the lake. Camping is also available at Palo Duro Canyon State Park, located west of the national grassland and south of Amarillo. For more details, choose a point on the map or a name in the chart below.

- Take IH 40 to FM 2477. Turn north and continue past dam. Entrance on south side of road.

- Take IH 40 to FM 2477, turn north. Turn left on lake road just south of dam and follow to ramp.
