Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has a temporary agreement with this property owner to provide winter trout fishing access to the Guadalupe.

Area Description

The area provides approximately 0.5 miles of bank access along alternating pools and riffles. The bank is gently sloped and rocky. Anglers can wade fish both upstream and downstream, or fish from the bank. There is a low-water dam at the upper end of the property and a deep pool at the lower end. There are no free public downstream take-outs for float trips below this site. Anglers wishing to float downstream should make arrangements with Camp Huaco Springs staff for a shuttle and/or take-out location.

Special Conditions on Public Use

Access is open from 30 minutes before sunrise to 30 minutes after sunset each day for angling from the banks and launching non-motorized boats, canoes, kayaks, or other floatable devices for the purpose of fishing. Vehicle and trailer parking by anglers shall be in designated areas only and uses covered by this lease include only the items above associated with angling. All other uses will result in a daily access fee being charged.

Angling Opportunities

Rainbow and brown trout, Guadalupe bass, smallmouth bass. This site is stocked by TPWD with rainbow trout December – February. Check the trout schedule for specific stocking dates.

Fishing Regulations

At this site, statewide regulations apply for all species. For rainbow and brown trout there is a 5-fish daily bag limit with no minimum length.
