Hiking

Hiking Permitted

Hiking is an enjoyable activity that is available in many of the Wildlife Management Areas of Texas. Since potable water is not available on many of the Wildlife Management Areas, it is a good idea to bring plenty of drinking water.

The entire area is open for hiking, although first-timers might stay on or near roads to avoid getting lost. Remember to pack along a map, compass or GPS, and plenty of drinking water. All hikers must possess an Annual Public Hunting (APH) Permit or Limited Public Use (LPU) Permit.
