General Access

The WMA is divided into two units: The Bois d' Arc Unit is located approximately 12 miles north of Honey Grove and contains 13,370 acres. The unit is primarily upland oak woodlands with some bottomland habitat located along Bois d' Arc Creek.

The Ladonia Unit contains 2,780 acres and is comprised primarily of Blackland Prairie with scattered forests along creek drainages and the Sulphur River. The check station may be accessed via FM 100 north from Honey Grove to Hwy 409, then west 1.5 miles to the USFS Work Center.

All pasture roads are closed to vehicle traffic.

Permits Required

Hunters 17 years of age and older must possess an Annual Public Hunting Permit (APH) and valid hunting license otherwise, no permit is needed for non consumptive use. Check the current Public Hunting Lands map booklet for "Special Regulations in effect on US Forest Service Units."
