Determining Age of White-tailed Deer Through Collagen Elasticity

The practicality of using collagen elasticity as an aging technique will be determined. In October of each year, collagen fibers will be collected from the tails of over 200 deer of known age. Fibers will be tested for elasticity and a correlation table for elasticity and age will be developed.
