The Great Texas Birding Classic

The 13th Annual Great Texas Birding Classic is approaching with tournaments for all ages and abilities and even more opportunities to secure conservation dollars for Texas habitat. Here in Texas we already know many of the opportunities birders have to experience the unique natural diversity our state has to offer! Now we want to share that information with others by offering a free listing of community and regional birding events along the Great Texas Coastal Birding Trail through Texas Parks and Wildlife magazine's May and August issues. We are splitting the calendar into two parts this year and events from April 15, 2009 through July 31, 2009 were listed in the first segment for May's issue. We are now compiling events from August 1, 2009 through April 30, 2010 for the Fall/Winter calendar to appear in August's issue.

The Birding Classic Migration Calendar is an excellent opportunity for your organization to offer events of interest to birders, such as lectures, guided tours, regional bird counts, specialized birding workshops, and nature festivals. The August issue's calendar covers the period from August 1, 2009 through April 30, 2010. Bird-related events open to the public are eligible for inclusion in this calendar of events.

The calendar will be part of August's issue of Texas Parks and Wildlife magazine.

Follow the link below to submit your event form for this calendar listing. To have your events included for free in this year's Migration Calendar, please submit the event forms to the Birding Classic staff no later than Wednesday, April 29, 2009.
