Texas Nature Trackers: Biological Inventory Team Project
to establish volunteer teams in
each of the eight TPWD Wildlife Districts.
A Biological Inventory Team is a group of enthusiastic and knowledgeable experts (from groups such as Texas Master Naturalists; native plant, amphibian/reptile, and bird societies; and other nature organizations) who are able to assist landowners and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) biologists by conducting surveys of plants and animals on private property.
BIT Project Goals
- Provide assistance to landowners in conducting surveys on private property.
- Provide a volunteer base of knowledgeable experts to help conduct surveys.
- Contribute valuable data to the TPWD Texas Natural Diversity Database.
