Description: This association occurs in perennial or nearly perennial streams of the Edwards Plateau over flat-bedded limestone strata. Frequent components of these communities include Justicia americana, Bacopa monnieri, Eleocharis montevidensis, E. geniculata, Fuirena simplex, and Cyperus spp. Other characteristic species can include Ludwigia octovalvis, L. palustris, Lobelia cardinalis, Rhynchospora nivea, and R. colorata. Poorly developed or degraded examples of this community occur throughout the Edwards Plateau, but well developed examples are less common.
