Torosaurus

Torosaurus (tor-roh-SORE-us) means "bull lizard" after the large cattle-like horns over the eyes. The neck frill protected its neck and shoulders. Torosaurus had the largest head of any known land animal. Its skull measured 9 feet long, with the huge neck frill taking up half of that length.

Length: 24 feet
Weight: 9 tons
Time: 75 - 65 million years ago
Where Found: Much of western North America, Big Bend region of Texas

Think About It: How high is the wall in your home or school? If you put Torosaurus's chin on the floor, would its skull fit without hitting the ceiling?
