Landowner Workshops and Field Days
The Private Lands Program encourages landowners to supplement their wildlife and habitat management skills and knowledge by participating in workshops and field days. General, specialized, beginner and advanced events are offered by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and our partners. Topics include but are not limited to:

Workshops
- Wildlife Practices and Activities Workshop (Fayette County)
- April 13, 2012 at the SPJST Education and Nature Center at Cooper Farm, Ledbetter, Texas
Workshop fee is $12 with refreshments and a catered lunch provided. To register, call the Fayette County Appraisal District at (979) 968-8383. Reservations are requested before April 11, 2012
Topics: The workshop is designed for landowners interested in using wildlife management as a qualifying agricultural practice for property tax purposes. Topics covered will include rules for qualifying for wildlife tax valuation, managing for backyard wildlife, firewise wildlife management, using remote cameras, and managing for quail on small acreage. Additionally, the Fayette County Appraisal District will be present to explain what appraisers are looking for during site visits.
