Coastal Expo’s Mission:

Increase public awareness of Texas coastal ecosystems, why they are important, and how people can protect them.

Interested in being part of Coastal Expo?

This year, we are creating Coastal Expo kits. These kits will be made available to local schools, organizations, and communities that are interested in hosting their own Coastal Expo. The kit will provide all the necessary information needed to conduct a Coastal Expo in your community! We need your help to ensure the success of future events.

Coastal Expo is partially funded by a grant awarded by the Office of Ocean and Coastal Resource Management, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and administered through the Coastal Coordination Council and the Texas Coastal Management Program.

Coastal Expo

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) brings the coast to local communities each year through Coastal Expo.

Coastal Expo is a fun, family-oriented event with activities for all ages! Visitors see and touch crabs, sea stars, and other coastal animals; view a glass-bottom stream; solve a mysterious fish kill; learn what washes up on the Texas coast; fish for live catfish; and participate in other great activities. In the process, they learn about Texas coastal ecosystems, why they are important, and how to protect them.
